Helen Willaphene Privitt Beran, 92, of McKinney, Texas, formerly of Lubbock, passed in her sleep on August 10, 2017. Daughter of Lela and Roy Privitt, Willaphene was born on December 13, 1924 in Lubbock and grew up with four brothers. She and Delmar "Buckshot" Beran were married on August 11, 1947. A year later their son, Bill Beran, was born. She was a children's clothes buyer for Hemphill Wells from 1968 until 1988. She traveled often to New York and Dallas for market and will always be remembered by her family for her fashionable style - high heels, red lipstick, and big earrings. A child of the depression, she took great pride in decorating her home with class and beauty. She loved hand painting china and taught others the art. She adored and was adored by her former daughter-in-law Sharon Beran, her three grandchildren and their spouses - Celeste and Vincent Bennekers, Ginger and Patrick Johnston, Jonathan Beran and Lauren Blair. Willaphene will also be remembered for her endless fountain of love for her great-grandchildren - Cosette, Holden, and Brecht Bennekers, Xavier Knott, and Anders Johnston. Willaphene will be laid to rest along side Buckshot in the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
