IRENE ORCHOWSKI, age 100, passed away Friday, Jan. 05, 2018.

Beloved wife of the late Zig Orchowski for 54 years; Loving mother to the late Susan (Charles) Maranto and Joseph (Patricia) Orchowski. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Kathryn, and Alec and great-grandmother of Sophie.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Stefan Pawlowski and her brothers Richard Pawlowski and Ed Pawlowski. Her sister, Wanda Visin, lives in senior living in Beaumont, TX. Irene was the devoted daughter-in-law to Lottie and Jos. Orchowski.

Irene, with her husband Zig, were quintessential members of the Greatest Generation. A blue collar, hard-work ethic person, she was devoted mother and diligent office worker who, when retired, rose to the occasion in caring for and helping to raise young grandson Alec when his mother Susan's health was in decline. She embodied sacrifice, kindness, selflessness, compassion, love of family and love of her God.

Her wish would be, for those who remember her fondly, to consider a small donation to Lupus Foundation of America, www.lupus.org/illinois.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023 with the Rev. Bruce Bradley as celebrant. Interment will be Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois. Ted Dickey West Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
