Michael Allan Bernatis, age 65, of Plano, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Michael was born Sunday, July 13, 1952 in Hereford, Texas, to John and Mary Ann Bernatis. He was the first born of four boys, Michael, Greg, Paul, and Steve. Michael grew up in Midland, Texas. He was often referred to as Mike by family and friends.

Michael graduated Midland Senior High School in 1970. He went on to earn his Texas Tech BA Degree in 1974, and his CPA in 1977. His life goal was to be an Accountant, which he succeeded at for 30 plus years. Michael married the love of his life, Martha Chapman, on Saturday, August 22, 1975 in Muleshoe, Texas. The couple spent forty-two years and five months of blissful marriage before his untimely death. They had two wonderful boys, Clint and Kyle, which in turn, gave them the joys of grand-parenting three amazing grandchildren, Giada, Isla, and Lincoln.

Michael will be remembered as a kind, patient, and quiet man. Some of Michael's favorites were his love for football and all local sports. He would get excited about his Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, and Rangers. His favorite place to be was on a cruise ship. He helped others without hesitation. He was an excellent Dad to his two sons and an equally dedicated and considerate husband. He dearly loved his three brothers. In this last year when he was fighting cancer, he did not really slow down until around September when the pain was ramping up. He still helped as best as he could around the house and was a wonderful friend to those who knew him well.
