William Travis Hunley, Travis, of Plano, Texas passed away March 25, 2015, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Travis was born December 11, 1949 in Dallas, Texas, the first of two sons of Raymond and Margaret Hunley, who both preceded him in death. Travis attended North Texas State University where he earned a BS in Education - Psychology and a MBA- Management, followed by many working years in the banking business in Dallas, San Antonio and Houston. William Travis Hunley, Travis, of Plano, Texas passed away March 25, 2015, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Travis was born December 11, 1949 in Dallas, Texas, the first of two sons of Raymond and Margaret Hunley, who both preceded him in death. Travis attended North Texas State University where he earned a BS in Education - Psychology and a MBA- Management, followed by many working years in the banking business in Dallas, San Antonio and Houston. He had a passion for the outdoors, golfing, sailing, fishing and camping and was active in the Boy Scouts, an Eagle Scout, and served as a scout leader for many years. Music, reading, bridge and his church activities were important to him as well, and as a member of First Baptist Plano he served as the lead Sunday school teacher for the adult singles group for many years. He is survived by one son, Weston; a brother, Raymond, Jr.; his loving soul mate, Diane Goodman; two aunts, Louise Gipson and Ada Miller; numerous cousins and countless friends. Travis's easy smile, open heart and quick wit will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service celebrating Travis's life will be held March 31, 2015, 6 p.m. at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 8011 Frankford Rd. Plano, Texas 75252. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boy Scouts of America, American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
